Olivia's Bee Sting

Today Olivia got a bee sting on her big toe. Or what I can only assume is a bee sting judging by the amount of crying, screaming, and carrying on. She had taken her shoes off outside and when she continued on longer and more insistently than usual, I headed out to check. She was stradling the side of the pool, dipping her foot in and out and crying whenever she lost her balance and put any weight on her foot. I investigated and tried to look at her toes, but she objected. Strongly. Finally, I was able to see a little tiny speck and some blood. Way too much continued crying for it to be nothing so, I treated it as for a bee sting. Hence, the bandage that is wrapping up an ice pack that was applied over a paste of soda wrapped in plastic wrap. After about an hour she was as good as new. She always bounces back quick.

A Daddy and His Boy...

I love watching Matt interact with the Kids. Its always good with Joe because he is so expressive and relational.

Hellooo... Can You See Me?

We all gathered around and said "HI" to Auntie Jen, Uncle Sam, & Baby Lola. I loved watching Olivia's expressions as she caught up with Lola.

Olivia...

Olivia is the hardest of the three to photograph. She spends the least amount of time sitting still and she hates to be stilled. She gives very short snuggles especailly to dad and mom, but at her instagation. We've developed a ploy. We call it the "five second snuggle". She puts her head on our shoulder and hugs while we count backward from 5. She usually repeats each number outloud. 5-4-3-2-1... ZERO! Then she pops her head up like it's on a spring and shouts with a smile, "ALL DONE". It helped her to think of it as a game insead of captivity. Anyway, as soon as I bring out the camera, she gets serious and somber. All her giggle and squirt is gone. So, we are working on it.

William Loves His Monkey

He sleeps with his monkey every night and every nap. It was a gift from Uncle Andy and Auntie Mamy. Thanks guys! He treasures that little monkey guy.

Sweet William

Will is maybe starting to overcome the whiny stage. He has a very sweet heart and winsome ways. He melts me. He loves to snuggle up and read. and read. and read. Even the same book. I always give up after the 6th or 7th read. He is very loyal. He always has a toy or book of the moment and he can be found playing with or reading the same book for days in a row.

Silly Faces

Joe has been working on his silly faces. These are some of his more practiced attempts.

Joe's Eyes

Joe's eyes always capture my heart. I love to photograph them. They just draw me in. His eyes are always full of love and care. Or mischief. I can always tell what he's thinking.

The Boys Comfort Olivia

They are learning to treat each other with kindness. Joe is so in tune with how other people are feeling. So often I hear, "I kiss it Momma?" He offers to kiss owies for Will, Olivia, or even me. He is a tender heart for sure. Will is learning from his example.

Watching "Marchines"

The kids heard a big truck out in the alley and had to go see wha ttaht was all about. They got to watch the linemen operate the bucket truck and then watch as the neighbors had some trees dropped. They were fascinated.
