Well, the kids were celebrities at the Golden Gate Bridge anyway. When a couple different tourists from different groups saw them perched on the statute, they asked if they could have their picture taken with the kids. It was hilarious! I had to take a picutre too.

We Saw Celebrities at The Golden Gate Bridge
Well, the kids were celebrities at the Golden Gate Bridge anyway. When a couple different tourists from different groups saw them perched on the statute, they asked if they could have their picture taken with the kids. It was hilarious! I had to take a picutre too.

Olivia gets a makeup lesson from Auntie Mamie. Apparently she and I have the same opinion about such things!

The kids went to sleep in Amy and Andy's tent while we stayed up and played cards. They did really well! They were so tired they went right to sleep. We left Joe there when we headed home and he spent the night wth Amy and Andy. Jen, in preparation for traveling, I recommend that you pick out a nice snuggly animal that packs along nicely and a small pillow and a blanket that Lola likes. The last several times that we've gone somewhere with the kids they have been able to sleep pretty easily anywhere. Even in the van driving home from California. About 9:30pm I gave them their monkeys and their blankets and said, "It's bedtime, I want you to close your eyes and go to sleep." They litteraly did just that! I think that when they have a routine and specific items that signal bedtime, they go to sleep so much easier! The monkeys that Amy and Andy gave them are the perfect size and weight. I loved that the fit right into the car seat with them and could double as the pillow that was packed away. I did have little 1 foot square pillows that each of them used when were staying at Garland and Ira's. They were perfect for giving them a sense of home even away from home.
